Kirkby Lonsdale is a popular, lively market town situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshre Dales, with an excellent choice of shops, including prize winning 'Churchmouse Cheeses' and 'Dale's' Butchers. There are a number of gift and specialist shops. Booths supermarket is a two minute walk from the house. There are galleries, pubs and restaurants as well as an historic church and the famous Ruskin’s View. There are delightful walks from the front door. This is the perfect holiday location for walkers and shoppers alike.
Larger towns such as Kendal and Lancaster are a twenty minute drive away as is the lovely scenery of Morecambe Bay. Zeferelli's in Windermere provides cinema and live music. The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal is an excellent venue for music and theatre. Kendal also has the renowned Abbot Hall Art Gallery and Blackwell, a fully restored 'Arts and Crafts' House is close by near Bowness. The Lune Valley, as well as it's beautiful river, has many interesting and attractive villages.
